About Me

I’m a reporter, writer and translator in Ho Chi Minh City. I spent two years in Boston where I earned a Master’s degree in print and multimedia journalism from Emerson College.

During my program funded by the Fulbright Scholarship, I worked as a general-assignment intern at the GateHouse Media New England’s Metro Unit and The Christian Science Monitor where I joined the online editorial team, writing science and technology stories. I also contributed my feature stories to the news site of The Boston Globe, Tuoi Tre and Saigon Tiep Thi, a former name of The Gioi Tiep Thi in Ho Chi Minh City.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in English from Can Tho University. Before starting my journey in the United States, I had 11 years of working as a translator then an editor of international news with Can Tho Newspaper, the biggest daily newspaper in the Mekong Delta, Southern Vietnam. I also worked as a sole translator for Mekong Travel Information Limited Company, in charging of translating all its guidebooks and brochures into English, for three years.

In addition to reporting and writing, I am keen in studying habits and selectively mentoring young people to pursue their dreams and goals.  I took my pride in mentoring an English teacher and a public health practitioner in Vietnam to become Fulbright scholarship grantees in 2015 and 2016.
